Measurement
MRV
MRV stands for measurement, reporting and verification. It is the chain that turns a claim about carbon or restoration into evidence: measure what happened, report it in a defined format, and have somebody independent check it. Without the third step the first two are self assessment.
Each link needs care. Measurement needs a sampling plan set in advance. Reporting needs a format that shows what was and was not covered. Verification needs a checker who is independent of the project.
Designing MRV before a project starts is what makes the record evidence rather than something assembled later.
