Compressed biogas
Compressed biogas is methane produced by digesting organic waste such as dung and crop residue, then cleaned and compressed to vehicle fuel standard. The solid left behind is digestate, which goes back to the field as organic manure rather than being disposed of.
Its advantage on a restoration site is that the feedstock is already there. Residue that would be burned or left becomes fuel and fertiliser.
The work that decides it is feedstock logistics: collecting, storing and moving bulky material reliably. The digester itself is the straightforward part.
