Co firing

Co firing is burning biomass alongside coal in an existing thermal power plant. It lowers the fossil share of the fuel without building anything new, which is why it is used as a policy lever, and it creates steady demand for pellets from agricultural residue.

For a restoration project it matters as a buyer rather than as a technology. The demand exists because plants are required to meet it.

The practical constraint is pellet supply: consistent quality, consistent moisture, delivered continuously.
