Availability contracting
A commercial structure where the owner pays for delivered availability rather than purchasing and operating a battery.
The provider finances, installs, operates, maintains and replaces the storage, and the site owner pays against contracted availability rather than buying an asset. That moves degradation risk, replacement cost and operating responsibility to the party best able to manage them.
What this includes
- Availability definition and measurement method
- Payment structure against delivered performance
- Degradation and replacement responsibility allocation
- Operating and maintenance obligations
- Term, exit and end of term asset treatment
- Reporting and audit rights
- What you receiveOutput
- Availability agreement with defined performance and payment terms
- When you need itTiming
- Where the owner wants firm supply without owning the degradation risk.
Availability defined loosely. If the measurement method is not agreed in writing, both parties calculate it differently the first time it matters.
Delivered by our own team together with vetted specialist partners and, where the question needs it, a named member of our expert bench. We tell you who is doing the work before the engagement starts.
