Compressed biogas

Digester design and build

Digester sizing, construction, feed handling, temperature control and commissioning.

In short

Organic matter is held in a sealed, oxygen free tank where bacteria break it down and release biogas, mostly methane and carbon dioxide. Temperature, retention time and feedstock mix control the yield, and a stable feed matters more than a large one because the bacterial culture takes time to adjust.

What this includes

  • Digester sizing against daily feed and retention time
  • Tank construction and gas holder
  • Feed pre treatment and handling systems
  • Temperature control and mixing
  • Gas collection and safety systems
  • Seeding, commissioning and yield stabilisation
What you receiveOutput
Digester built, seeded and producing stable gas
When you need itTiming
After feedstock is contracted.
The common mistake

Changing feedstock mix after commissioning. The bacterial culture is slow to adapt and yield can collapse for weeks.

How we staff this

Delivered by our own team together with vetted specialist partners and, where the question needs it, a named member of our expert bench. We tell you who is doing the work before the engagement starts.
