Why the bench exists
Large Indian groups are entering green energy faster than they can build teams that understand it. Steel, cement, textiles, infrastructure, logistics. They have capital and intent, and no one internally who has seen a resource assessment go wrong.
The person who has seen it go wrong is usually in a research institution, or has spent thirty years inside a plant, and has no interest in a corporate job. That person is not unavailable. They are just not available on the terms companies normally offer.
Our job is to make the terms sensible. A defined question, a defined number of weeks, a defined deliverable, and payment for the work rather than for attendance.

- A written scope naming the question, the deliverable and the duration. Typically a few weeks. If the scope changes, so does the agreement.

- You are named to the client and the work is signed. We do not sell anonymous expertise or list you as available before you have agreed.
- Paid for the workTerms
- Fee agreed upfront against the deliverable. We tell you the client and the context before you accept, so you can decline anything you would rather not be associated with.
- You can say the project is a bad ideaIndependence
- Our advisory work is separated from our supply work by agreement. If your honest answer is that a client should not build, that is the answer we deliver.

- Your field, and where you work or have worked
- One problem you have actually solved, and what the wrong answer would have cost
- Roughly how much time you could give in a quarter
A CV is welcome and not required. The second point is the one we read most carefully, because it is the one a list of qualifications does not tell us.
We will not use your name or your institution's name in marketing before you have agreed to an assignment, and we do not display institutional logos to imply endorsement. If you join and later want out, you are out.
Joining the bench
- How do specialists join the BAASLAB expert bench?
- By writing to us with their area of work and one example of a problem they have solved. Engagements are per assignment rather than employment, so joining the bench does not require leaving a current role or institution.
- Do I have to leave my university or company to work with BAASLAB?
- No. Bench members keep their existing affiliation and role. Assignments are scoped as defined pieces of work with a defined deliverable and duration, typically a few weeks, and are taken on when the timing suits you.
- Will my name appear on the work?
- Yes. Bench members are named to the client on the assignment they work on, and the work is signed. We do not present anonymous expertise, and we do not list a specialist as available until they have agreed.
